What is a face oil?

A face oil is a concentrated blend of plant-derived oils, sometimes enhanced with essential oils, to deliver targeted nutrients and hydration to the skin. Different from essences or creams, facial oils are typically water-free and work by mimicking the skin's natural lipids, helping to reinforce its protective barrier and lock in moisture.

Can I use a face oil if I have oily or combination skin?

Yes, you can. There is a popular misconception that face oils are only for dry skin. Oil for the face is suitable for all skin types and ages. Clarins’ plant-based face oils are 100% natural and are the best beauty booster we know for dry, dehydrated, combination, and oily skin alike.

How to use face oil in a skincare routine

Face oils should be applied to perfectly cleansed skin.

Once you have finished removing your makeup with a cleanser, apply a toner. to rebalance the skin pH. Then continue the routine with serum and moisturiser. Apply a few drops of the beauty oil as the final step, and gently massage the oil into your damp skin.

You can use facial oils in addition to your neck and décolleté cream to help with the signs of aging.

Should I use a face treatment oil during the day or at night?

Face treatment oil is suitable for both day and night use, but most people prefer to use it as a night face oil.

Applying it in the evening allows the concentrated ingredients to work intensively with the skin's natural regeneration process.

However, a few drops can be mixed into your foundation or day cream for an extra dewy finish and hydration boost during the day.

How long will one bottle of Clarins luxury face oil last?
